Abstract A hybrid platform was developed by the association of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) and Poly(amidoamine) generation 0.0 dendrimers (PAMAM G.0). After this modification, the material was functionalized with a bimetallic complex by the adsorption of Zinc Chloride (Zn²⁺) ions and subsequently the potassium hexacyanoferrate (III) ligand, producing the CNTmDZnH material. The developed material was subjected to characterization regarding chemical composition, structure, and morphology, using the techniques: Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) evaluated its electrochemical performance. After optimization of voltametric system, the composite was evaluated as a sensor for nitrite determination yielding two linear calibration ranges. The first range presents a limit of detection (LOD) of 4.79 × 10 −7 mol L −1 and the second range has a LOD of 4.76 × 10 −6 mol L −1 . The proposed sensor showed promising potential for detection of nitrite in water supply samples. Graphical Abstract
