An ongoing study targets on linking standardized material emission test results with real indoor air quality (IAQ). Both measurements of airborne pollutants and odour assessment are carried out in 30 m3 test chambers according to EN 16516, in which four model rooms of different construction types are set up. The obtained data will be related to those obtained by emission testing of the individual products and composite materials. In addition, the interpretation of the data is supported by a modelling approach based on already existing simulation models, which are needed to be combined systematically. The results will be incorporated into a practical guide for planners and architects regarding the consideration of IAQ during construction processes.
