Iraq has witnessed fundamental shifts in the political landscape as a result of security crises and conflicts. The war on ISIS demonstrated Iraq's ability to combat terrorism, but it left profound scars. Corruption and weak institutions led to a decline in public confidence in political authority and a deterioration in the social and economic situation as a result of conflicts, wars, and corruption. Attempts to implement political reforms and form new governments faced challenges. Building a state with strong institutions and political stability remains a major challenge, while national unity, accountability, and reforming the political system are essential to ensuring stability. Iraq's political future depends on its ability to overcome challenges. Therefore, Iraq requires genuine efforts to strengthen democratic institutions to achieve political and economic stability, which requires cooperation among various parties to advance the country toward building a more stable and developed future. The research problem revolves around the factors that led to political developments in Iraq from 2014 to 2025 and how the effects of these developments on political, economic and social stability in Iraq can be explained.
