Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a lethal primary brain cancer for which treatment has limited options, characterized by systemic and local immunosuppression that contributes to the malignancy's aggressiveness and resistance to therapy.In a recent study published in Cellular and Molecular Immunology 1, Han et al. reported that intravenously administered oncolytic alphavirus M1 not only suppressed GBM growth but also reversed GBM-induced systemic immunosuppression.
