This document introduces STEPINQUEST® as a conceptual, methodological, and operational framework for investigative practice. STEPINQUEST® is defined as an investigative narrative genre in which narration functions not only as a mode of representation, but as an active component of the investigative process itself. It integrates documentary evidence, step-by-step analytical logic, and institutional engagement into a unified structure oriented toward both reconstruction and intervention. Unlike conventional investigative or narrative forms, STEPINQUEST® does not culminate in a finished account of events. Instead, the investigation unfolds through the narrative, which operates as a mechanism of action capable of producing legal, institutional, and public effects. The framework is particularly applicable to cases involving unresolved, historically distant, or structurally obscured events, where evidence is fragmented and institutional response is incomplete or absent. In such contexts, STEPINQUEST® enables the reactivation of investigative processes and the transformation of narrative into a tool of institutional and discursive influence. As a transferable model, STEPINQUEST® may be applied across investigative, academic, journalistic, and media practices, providing a structured approach to cases that require both evidentiary rigor and active engagement with institutional systems.
