This article, authored by Paku Buwana IX, explains the philosophy of child education in Serat Wulang Putra (SWP). Semantic theory is applied to understand the elements of wisdom related to aspects of child education. A cultural method is employed to explore SWP, a literary work by the Surakarta king that contains philosophical values. Child education is revealed as an effort to shape the character of a virtuous young generation. The younger generation should receive adequate intellectual and spiritual development from an early age. The younger generation’s future is strongly influenced by efforts to nurture character. The discussion aims to highlight that the educational philosophy contained in Javanese literary works created by King Paku Buwana IX can be utilized to prepare for a bright future. The classic literature written by Paku Buwana IX is about character education. The book of Wulang Putra has become a good reference for social interaction in the Javanese community. There are contributions to the world of peace that promote harmony between macrocosmos and microcosmos – teaching Javanese to make a welfare state.
