This study aimed to determine the factors influencing students’ participation in extracurricular activities at the University of Caloocan City. Specifically, it sought to identify the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, and academic program; assess the level of participation of students in extracurricular activities; examine the factors that influence their participation; and determine if there is a significant relationship between the respondents’ demographic profile and their level of participation. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design. Data were gathered from the fifty-three (53) students of the University of Caloocan City through a structured questionnaire using a Likert scale. Statistical tools such as frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were employed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that students generally have a moderate level of participation in extracurricular activities. Personal interest, time management, and motivation were found to be key factors influencing participation. However, certain challenges such as limited activity options, financial constraints, and academic workload moderately affected their involvement. Furthermore, the results showed that there is a weak to moderate relationship between some demographic variables and students’ level of participation. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the university enhance extracurricular programs by offering more diverse activities aligned with students’ interests, providing flexible schedules, and implementing support mechanisms to encourage greater student involvement.
