This paper explores the urgent need to re-strategize adult education and mass literacy programs in India within the context of an increasingly technological era. The rapid advancements in technology have created significant opportunities for learning but have also highlighted and exacerbated the existing digital divide between various socio-economic groups. This divide manifests starkly between rural and urban populations, educated and non-literate individuals, as well as marginalized and affluent classes. The study draws upon a range of contemporary political, socio-linguistic, and socio-cultural theories to analyze these disparities. This paper contributes to the ongoing discourse on educational reform and equity, offering actionable recommendations for policymakers, educators, and community leaders.
