Teacher Quality and Library Infrastructure: Critical Components of NEP 2020Dr. Bibek MahataLibrarian, Nrajole Raj College, Narajole, West Bengalmahatabibek@gmail.com Dr. Anindya BasuLibrarian, Maharani Kasiswari College, West Bengalanindyabasuuit@gmail.com Abstract: With the goal of giving everyone access to high-quality education, the NationalEducation Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a dramatic change in India's educational environment.This article explores two critical pillars of NEP 2020: teacher quality and libraryinfrastructures. A comprehensive evaluation of available literature demonstrates the significanceof these components in determining student outcomes, including academic achievement, literacy,and lifetime learning. In order to improve teacher quality, NEP 2020 suggests several measures,such as creating a National Teacher Education Council, offering in-service training, andencouraging teacher recruitment and retention. These measures are examined in this paper. Thestudy also looks at ideas for bolstering library infrastructure, such as establishing a NationalDigital Library, allocating funds and resources, and encouraging technology integration. Thesuccessful execution of these efforts will depend on numerous aspects, including the availabilityof resources, the capability of institutions, and the commitment of stakeholders. This study comesto the conclusion that NEP 2020 depends heavily on teacher quality and library infrastructure,and that the policy's objectives will only be met if these elements are implemented successfully.
