Beyond the Chemical Key: Timothy Leary's 8-Circuit Model of Consciousness, the Egoic Spectrum, and the Case for Embodied Developmental Transcendence

This paper maps Timothy Leary's 8-Circuit Model of Consciousness onto the Egoic Spectrum to demonstrate that both frameworks chart the same fundamental polarity — contracted ego-states to expanded cosmic awareness — through different methodological lenses. Leary attempted to bypass the ego through exogenous chemicals (LSD, psilocybin, DMT); the Egoic Spectrum provides an endogenous, developmental pathway that achieves sustained integration by teaching the ego to alchemize itself.
