This workshop has been presented to staff members of the GLAM community in the Federal Scientific Institutions, in the course of the FedOSC project, and especially it's Training WorkPackage. The workshop was set up in Brussels at KBR (Royal Library) and at KIK-IRPA (Cultural Heritage Institute) respectively on February 24th and February 27th, as well as at RA-AE (State Archive) on April 13th. The learning goals of this workshop were to: Understand what data is broader than databases, statistics and just numbers Understand the broader nature of data in the GLAM sector, including what STEM people would already call metadata (interpretive context) Address the difference between data and research data (“raw” + additional research layer) -> origin of confusion Understand the different data types, especially Data Collection and Digital Data See why data stewardship matters
