Statistics Canada, the nation's statistical agency, collects and disseminates a wide range of data and statistics about Canada's population, social conditions, economics and so much more. In this webinar academic library data professionals Alexandra Cooper (Queen's University), Kevin Manuel (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Michael Steelworthy (Laurier University) will introduce attendees to the Statistics Canada website and what is available on it and how to search and navigate the results for resources such as the Census of Population, geographic classifications, and statistics on representation. The presenters will also highlight other sources for public opinion polling data and where to find them (for free!) and also provide an overview of Odesi and Scholars Geoportal, data platforms used to discover and use Statistics Canada’s data.
