The idea of “Viksit Bharat 2047” aims to transform India into a developed, inclusive, and knowledge-based nation by the 100th year of its independence. In the present global scenario, where technology and innovation play a vital role, education, information systems, and the knowledge economy have become the foundation of sustainable national development. A quality-focused, skill-oriented, and technology-supported education system strengthens human capital by improving productivity, creativity, and employability. At the same time, advanced information systems such as digital libraries, information and communication technologies (ICT), e-learning platforms, and knowledge management tools support effective creation, storage, sharing, and use of knowledge. This process helps in converting knowledge into economic value, which contributes to employment generation, competitiveness, and long-term economic growth. The present study analyses the relationship between education, information systems, and the knowledge economy from an interdisciplinary perspective involving Library and Information Science and Economics. The study is based on the review of policy documents and academic literature. It concludes that innovation in education, strong information infrastructure, and knowledge-oriented development policies are essential for achieving the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” in a realistic, inclusive, and sustainable manner.
