Adaptive Twisting Metamaterials Twisting metamaterials unlock on-demand mechanical adaptivity in architected lattices. Through controlled torsion, gyroid structures achieve tuneable stiffness, collapse stress, and energy absorption. Combining multiscale modelling, additive manufacturing, and experiments, this platform enables real-time impact mitigation, offering a versatile strategy for next-generation energy-absorbing systems across automotive, aerospace, rail, and defence applications. More details can be found in the Research Article by Mattia Utzeri, Shanmugam Kumar, and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202513714).
