The usage of a simple low-cost microcontroller to automate the intermittent spray procedure according to the needs is innovative. It controls the precise intermittent spray, chamber ventilation, and substrate movement all at the same time. As a result, it becomes almost an automatic coating process that aids in the production of high-quality thin films. The computer software created in C language for the microcontroller is the subject of interest in this research work. It regulates the spraying operation according to the user-defined intermittent spray parameters. Thin films such as TCO and TiO2 were created for investigating and manufacturing Dye Sensitised Solar Cells using this cost-effective device (DSSC). This work will be valuable to researchers and manufacturers that want to make thin films using the practically automatic SPTD approach.
