This study examines the demographic characteristics of migrants to Khamis Mushait City, to reveal their motives, and their relationship to their original homeland. The study relied on the field survey method using the sample method in data collection, and the descriptive analytical method based on the quantitative method, through the use of statistical methods (measures of central tendency, and Pearson correlation coefficient). The findings indicate that the majority of migrants are male with university-level education, and that more than half are between 25 and 65 years of age. The results further show that the most salient reasons for migration to Khamis Mushait are the search for employment opportunities, the transfer of workplace or job location, the pursuit of better employment conditions, and the improvement of income levels. With regard to economic determinants, the analysis reveals that access to land or the purchase of land constitutes the primary factor influencing migration decisions. In terms of social determinants, the availability of services in the city emerges as the most influential variable. Concerning geographical and spatial characteristics, prior knowledge of the destination ranks as the most important factor shaping migration choices. The study also demonstrates that more than half of the migrants originate from the Asir Region and that most of them maintain regular visits to their place of origin. The predominant reason for these visits is the desire to meet and reconnect with family and relatives.
