ABSTRACT The goal of this work is to develop a high‐conducting polymer electrolyte film. The highest conductivity was seen at a 20 wt% dopant of KI in the polymer during the production of PMMA and KI films. The PMMA doped with KI value is 3. 99 × 10 −6 S/cm. To assess the change in the conductivity of the polymer film, the ionic liquid 1‐hexyl‐3‐methylimidazolium iodide (HMImI) is added to the basic polymer, PMMA‐KI. Polarized optical microscopy is used to evaluate the surface morphology of polymer films (POM). In electrical studies of polymeric films, the conductivity of the sample is measured using impedance spectroscopy, the electrical stability window is determined using linear sweep voltammetry, the presence of functional groups is confirmed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and the concentration of charge carriers is ascertained using transference number measurements. The polymer electrolyte sheet doped with 15 wt% IL exhibits the highest ionic conductivity of 8. 65 × 10^ (‐4) S/cm. The electrochemical stability window (ESW) of the solid polymer electrolyte sheet is 3. 02 V, and its t ion value is 0. 98. Using low‐frequency impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry, an electric double‐layer capacitor (EDLC) was created with specific capacitances of 16. 29 F/g and 20. 49 F/g, respectively.
