In recent years, environmental issues caused by greenhouse gases and the depletion of fossil fuels have become increasingly serious, making the development of alternative fuels to petroleum an urgent task. Among such candidates, Waste Plastic Decomposition Oil (WPDO) produced by the high-temperature thermal decomposition of waste plastics has attracted attention as a fuel that can simultaneously contribute to both waste reduction and energy resource recovery. In addition, 1-butanol, which can be produced from renewable resources, is an oxygenated fuel expected to improve Exhaust characteristics. In this study, we investigated the effects of blending ratios and excess air ratios on combustion products in a two-stroke blower engine fueled with gasoline blended with these two alternative fuels.
