Emergent Time in Quantum Field Theories: Implications for the Standard Model of Particle Physics

The theory of emergent time introduced in Jaster2026a and extended in Jaster2026b through Planck-scale smearing of the causal field _₏ is transferred to quantum field theories~ (QFT) and the Standard Model of particle physics. The scalar causal field _₏ (x) 0, 1 couples as a prefactor _₏ to the Lagrangian density of all fields, thereby weighting the strength of physical processes according to the local causal connectivity to matter. The theory provides a natural ultraviolet~ (UV) and infrared~ (IR) regularisation without free parameters, renders the Wick rotation unnecessary, resolves the problem of time conceptually, strengthens the electroweak phase transition to a first-order transition, and generates a dynamic CP-violating contribution to baryogenesis. A modified dispersion relation consistent with predictions of loop quantum gravity follows as a direct consequence. Open problems -- in particular the position-dependent renormalisation group and the hierarchy problem -- are identified.
